Follow Ray County Recent Arrests
The Ray County Sheriff's Office handles most county bookings. Its official county site posts no roster, booking form, feed, or public photo policy. Call the Sheriff in Henrietta at 816-290-5323 for a new arrest. Ask which facility accepted the booking. Also ask whether the person transferred later. For multi-day coverage, the Missouri State Highway Patrol runs the one official rolling web search. It covers patrol arrests only. Reports stay online for five days. A Richmond or Excelsior Springs booking will never appear there. A missing name can mean the wrong agency. It can also mean a posting lag, release, transfer, or simply no public feed.
| Window | Verified source and scope | Photo and fallback |
|---|---|---|
| Same day | No Ray County 24-hour feed verified | Call Sheriff; ask for receiving jail |
| Five days | MSHP arrests by county/date, patrol only | No Ray jail photo promise |
| Current custody | No Ray public roster verified | Facility confirmation or MOVANS |
| Older record | Agency or Sunshine request | Ask for record and releasable image separately |
The menus split lookups into a same-day window and a multi-day window, each with its own limits. Neither one counts as a full census of Ray County arrests.
Ray County Arrest Booking Changes
Where does a Ray County arrest get booked? It depends on the jail that takes the person in. Local reporting says the Ray County jail shut down in January 2025 over unsafe conditions. County materials say arrestees were housed in neighboring counties while repairs went forward. KCTV later reported the facility reopened. Repairs finished in June 2025. None of that tells you where one person sits today.
A transfer can land a Ray County arrestee on another jail's roster. That booking list belongs to the receiving facility. It is not a standing Ray County system. Ask the Sheriff which jail holds the person. Do that before you search. Note the first intake site and the current one, since they may differ.
The Ray County Commission jail page carries the county's own repair and temporary-housing statements.

The county page covers operations, not people. No roster or booking-photo search lives there.
Ray County Jail Roster Status
Ray County publishes no working jail roster. That leaves no county search fields, entry formats, refresh times, photo rules, or roll-off windows to describe. The old sheriff domain does not load either. For a live answer on who is in custody, call the Sheriff's office directly rather than guessing at a roster link.
| Question or field | Verified Ray County answer |
|---|---|
| Name and booking date search | No public interface inspected; provide these by phone |
| Booking number, charges, bond | No public county entry verified |
| Booking photograph | No county web display policy verified |
| Refresh cadence | Not published |
| Transfer or release | Confirm with Sheriff and receiving facility |
| Record persistence | Web period unknown; official retention differs |
Start with a phone call to 816-290-5323. Give the full name and the rough arrest date. From there, try the holding facility's own roster. MOVANS can also show custody status where a live agency feed is in place. If the name still turns up nothing, ask the agency that made the arrest for the booking sheet.
Does an empty roster mean the person is out? Not always. A transfer, a name typo, a delayed entry, a dead feed, or no public roster at all can each hide someone in custody. Call the jail to confirm.
Why Ray Arrest Feeds Look Empty
Ray County's arrest data gap is real, but it is not a hidden search page. The county simply publishes no verified public booking feed. Its current site, like the older sheriff domain, offers no working arrest interface. Instead, Ray County leans on official contact routes. The chain is the Sheriff, a written records request, and whichever jail holds the person.
Commercial sites are no fix. A third-party page can carry a Ray tag or an old photo long after release. It cannot fill the official gap. The MSHP search has a blind spot too. It can come back empty even when Richmond, Excelsior Springs, Lawson, or the Sheriff made arrests. Those events sit outside MSHP's agency scope. For direct contacts, the courthouse directory lists the Sheriff and the Criminal Circuit Clerk.

Treat the directory as a routing tool. It points you to the right office; it does not list who is in custody.
Five-Day Ray County Arrest Reports
For a rolling multi-day arrest report, the statewide MSHP interface stands alone. Search fields cover the basics. They take first and last name, arrest county, troop, the person's city and state, and arrest date. Reports are preliminary and automated. Each one stays online for five days. Posting times and lag are not published.
Do not read the five-day count as a Ray County crime statistic. It skips arrests made solely by the Sheriff or a city department. The search can locate a State Patrol event. It cannot tell you how many people actually entered area jails, nor confirm anyone is still held. To run a search, open the official MSHP Arrest Reports page.

This official search covers patrol arrests only. Pair it with the arresting agency, the receiving jail, and the court for the full Ray County arrest record.
No Ray County Arrest App
Ray County offers no sheriff or jail app. The Missouri DPS warns that MobilePatrol and Missouri Sheriff Connect are not part of MOVANS. Treat any commercial alert app as private. It is not an official county feed. MOVANS is the state notification route. A May 2026 update required local-jail users to register again, ended local phone and app notices, and kept SMS and email. DPS notes an empty local search can mean the jail is offline. For one person's custody status and alerts, use the site's VINELink Inmate Check route.
Note: An alert service reports agency data; it does not replace direct confirmation of a fresh booking.
Where Ray County Arrests Appear
Every source here covers a different stage of a Ray County arrest, so start with official offices before newspapers or third-party sites.
| Channel | Official? | What it shows | Photo status |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ray County Sheriff | Yes | Custody and record confirmation by contact | No web policy verified |
| MSHP reports | Yes | Five days of patrol arrests | No Ray jail gallery |
| Case.net | Yes | Filed case and disposition | Not a booking-photo source |
| MDOC search | Yes | State supervision or incarceration | Photo may appear on eligible profile |
| Local news | No | Selected sheriff or police events | News image is not necessarily a mugshot |
| Historical aggregators | No | Incomplete or stale copied records | May show images; not current custody |
Mugshots.com and Arre.st once carried Ray County sections. Arrests.org held one Ray-tagged entry. A regional facility page listed Ray-attributed bookings. Busted Newspaper and RecentlyBooked show no active Ray-local page. None of these publishers is official, and each can lag or leave gaps.
Ray County Arrest News Patterns
News coverage in Ray County splits along city lines. The Richmond News once ran sheriff reports, while the Excelsior Citizen publishes recurring police, fire, EMS, and sheriff roundups. Its Richmond edition covered a defined 2023 date range. Booking-type details and jail destinations filled the list. The Excelsior Citizen sometimes states that no report was received. A paper can preserve a report after a web feed rolls off, but it is no complete register of Ray County arrests. Its publication date differs from the arrest date. Its image may not be an intake photo either. Regional KTTN and Northwest Missouri Info stories are event-driven, not a scheduled county blotter. Can news prove current custody? No. Use the story to find an agency, date, or case lead, then confirm with the jail and the court.
Ray County Recent Arrests by City
Each city takes different routing. Excelsior Springs and Lawson straddle the Clay-Ray line, while Richmond serves as the Ray County seat. A city name alone proves no Ray County booking.
- Excelsior Springs Recent Arrests: ESPD has a Records Unit but no verified live arrest feed. Confirm whether the event and receiving facility fall in Clay or Ray County.
- Richmond Recent Arrests: Richmond Police handles city records, and the City Clerk receives Sunshine requests. County custody questions go to the Sheriff.
- Lawson Recent Arrests: Lawson Police says felonies may go to Ray or Clay Circuit Court, while most misdemeanors use Lawson Municipal Court.
For each arrest, note the agency, county, jail, and case number. That brief record blocks same-name and wrong-county mix-ups.
Ray County Arrest Record Fields
An arrest report captures the event itself. A booking sheet logs jail intake, and the court file holds filed charges, hearings, and disposition. Ray County posts no public entry with all these fields. Request each element from the office that holds it.
| Field | What it means |
|---|---|
| Name and identifiers | Details used to distinguish the arrested person |
| Arrest and booking date | Event time and later jail intake time |
| Arresting agency | Office that made the arrest |
| Receiving facility | Jail that processed or held the person |
| Charges as booked | Initial charges, subject to court change |
| Bond and court | Release condition and case routing when recorded |
| Booking photograph | Intake image if created and releasable |
- Booking
- Administrative intake after arrest.
- Bond
- A court-set condition for release.
- Arraignment
- A first court stage at which charges and rights are addressed.
- Disposition
- The result or present outcome of a case.
- Expungement
- Court-ordered restriction of eligible records under state law.
Request Ray County Arrest Records
Ray County names its Clerk as custodian of county records. File a written request through the Ray County Sunshine materials, and ask the Sheriff which office holds the booking sheet or photo. Missouri law requires a response as soon as possible. The outer limit is the third business day, unless reasonable cause applies. Producing the records can take longer. The Sheriff publishes no booking-photo fee or guaranteed turnaround.
- Identify the person, exact agency, approximate arrest and booking dates, incident location, and case number if known.
- Ask for the arrest report, booking sheet, and any releasable booking photograph as separate items.
- Send the request to the office that created or holds each item. City-police reports go to the city's custodian.
- Ask for an estimate before copies are made and request the legal reason for any closed or redacted part.
- Keep the request and response, then use Case.net or the Criminal Circuit Clerk for disposition.
The county form is a records path, not a custody search. For urgent custody status, contact the Sheriff first.
Ray County Mugshots and Arrest Photos
Ray County posts no online booking-photo roster. A photo may still sit in an agency file without ever reaching the web. Ask the Sheriff or holding facility the right questions. Was an image created, who holds it, is it open, and what does a copy cost? Missouri law allows closure or redaction in specific cases. MDOC profiles reflect a later custody stage. The Missouri Department of Corrections search covers people under active state supervision or incarceration, not a newly booked Ray County detainee. Discharged and protected records may be left out. A DOC photo is never a Ray County booking photo.

The state search reflects a later custody stage. It cannot replace a county booking inquiry. Historical commercial pages go stale, so confirm every detail with the agency and the court.
Missouri Arrest Record and Mugshot Law
RSMo section 610.100 generally treats arrest and incident reports as open records. Investigative records and some media follow different rules. If no charge is filed, an arrest report may close after thirty days under the statute's terms. That openness does not create a county roster. It does not make every image public either. RSMo section 407.1150 bars certain publishers from charging a record subject to remove or correct criminal-record information. It guarantees no deletion of accurate public records. Use the agency, court, and free correction routes. Skip any intermediary selling a result the law does not promise. Expungement under section 610.140 can restrict eligible records through a court process with waiting periods and exclusions. It is not automatic web deletion. The 2026 Ray County schedule lists a $100.50 expungement filing fee, separate from any copying charge.
Correcting Ray County Arrest Pages
Missouri bans paid removal for booking photos, and Ray County posts no photo policy of its own. Those are two separate problems. Start with the official record. Ask the arresting agency or the court to fix it. Bring the exact name, the event date, the case number, and the disputed item. A signed court order helps when one exists. Only then approach the publisher. Use its free maintenance process and include the exact page URL.
Private sites handle corrections differently. Some publish free correction terms for dismissals, sealing, expungement, wrong-person matches, juvenile items, duplicates, or stale records. Others show no verified county-specific policy at all. A page can linger online after the official record changes, and search engines may cache the old text. Treat no process as guaranteed.
Ray County Arrest Warrants
Ray County publishes no official most-wanted page and no public warrant search. Ask the Sheriff's Office. The relevant court works too. Case.net may show a filed case or a docket event. That settles nothing on its own. Warrants can be served, recalled, vacated, or simply expire. Confirm directly with the office or the court.
The state retention schedule keeps outstanding warrant material. It holds it until served, acted upon, expired, vacated, or recalled. An old news list or a cached page is never authoritative. Anyone facing a possible warrant should talk with the court. Counsel can also help arrange a safe, lawful resolution.
The anonymous-tip forms in Excelsior Springs and Lawson are reporting channels. They are not warrant or custody searches. Never approach someone you believe is wanted. Call 911 for an urgent threat, and hand non-urgent information to the appropriate agency.
After a Ray County Arrest
After booking, the Criminal Circuit Clerk and Case.net carry the weight. The county directory lists that clerk at 816-776-3377. A docket shows charges, hearings, and disposition. It cannot prove anyone still sits in jail. Richmond municipal cases, Excelsior Springs matters, and Lawson's split across the Clay-Ray line can land in different courts.
The path runs from arrest to booking and photograph, then through initial court steps, a bond decision, hearings, and disposition. Prosecutors may alter or decline charges. Courts can dismiss a case or enter another result, so a booking charge rarely ends the story.
| Status | Best source | What it does not prove |
|---|---|---|
| Just arrested | Arresting agency | Final charges |
| Booked or held | Receiving facility | Guilt |
| Released | Facility confirmation | Case ended |
| Filed case | Case.net or clerk | Current custody |
| State sentence | MDOC search | New county booking |
City Arrests and County Lines
Excelsior Springs and Lawson both straddle the Clay-Ray line. Felony cases from Lawson may go to Ray or Clay Circuit Court. Lawson Police says most misdemeanors stay in Lawson Municipal Court. Excelsior Springs runs its own path for municipal matters. So one city label can point to different sheriffs, facilities, and dockets.
Richmond is the county seat, with county offices close by. Yet Richmond Police still keeps its own city reports. Pin four facts for a safe lookup. These are the exact event location, the arresting agency, the receiving jail, and the court county. Never infer any of them from a home address.
Note: A municipal summons is not the same as an arrest, jail booking, or felony court filing.
Older Ray County Arrest Records
Missouri's Sheriff retention schedule covers SHF 006 arrest records. That series includes logs, files, registers, fingerprints, and booking sheets. The minimum hold is five years. Destruction may follow once the minimum passes. A litigation hold or another legal hold can extend the retention. Fingerprints, photographs, and biometrics normally go to the Highway Patrol Central Repository. Local copies serve as reference only.
The schedule is not a web-display promise. Ray County publishes no destruction log, no photo archive, and no transfer schedule to the State Archives. Ask the Sheriff or County Clerk what series and date ranges remain. The Missouri State Archives keeps items of historical value. Its county database is browsed by county, office, record type, and date, not by name.
A newspaper clipping is history, a booking sheet is a local arrest record, Case.net is a court record, and a DOC profile shows state custody or supervision. None counts as a current booking.
