This is a private reference site, not a Ray County or Missouri government office. We cannot confirm custody, release a person, post bond, or retrieve an official booking record. Contact the office responsible for the record or custody directly.

For a current Ray County booking location, start with the official Sheriff contact. The county does not publish a separate current jail-information or booking-records line. General county office hours are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

The jail closed during 2025, used partner housing, and was reported reopened after June 2025 repairs. No public Ray County roster was verified. Ask the Sheriff to name the current receiving facility before trying to confirm custody elsewhere.
Route each request according to the record sought:
- For a mugshot, booking sheet, or arrest record, use the official-first Ray County search and request path. The County Clerk is the custodian of county records through the county Sunshine process.
- For a city police report, contact the agency that created it. Richmond routes Sunshine requests through its City Clerk, ESPD has a Records Unit, and Lawson provides a police report form.
- For a fresh arrest, call the arresting agency and receiving jail. The statewide MSHP report covers only patrol arrests, not every county booking.
- For release or transfer alerts, use Missouri MOVANS. A blank local result can mean the jail feed is offline.
- For filed charges or disposition, contact the Ray County Criminal Circuit Clerk at 816-776-3377 or use Missouri Case.net. The courthouse is at 100 W. Main Street, Richmond, Missouri 64085-1755.
- For a person serving a Missouri sentence or under state supervision, use the Missouri Department of Corrections offender search and DOC contact channels.
- For federal incarceration or immigration detention, use the Bureau of Prisons or ICE locator. Ray County cannot confirm those separate custody systems.
Ray County publishes no guaranteed Sheriff booking-photo fee or production time. Submit a clear written Sunshine request and ask for an estimate. Missouri generally requires an initial response by the end of the third business day unless reasonable cause applies, though producing the records may take longer.
